Callen & Nick | Commons Ford Ranch Engagement

I first met Callen and Nick through our neighborhood Facebook group. They’re getting married in Florida but were looking for a local Austin photographer to do their engagement photos *cue, me*. They decided on Commons Ford Ranch for their engagement session because they loved the trees, natural waters, and the nature-filled scenery that it provided.

The two first met in Chicago when they were both working for Hyatt. They had been dating for 4 years when Nick proposed to Callen on retro boat on the Chicago River. (Fun fact: Marco and I did our engagement photos on a retro boat on Lady Bird Lake!) Their friends were secretly waiting at the top of the bridge right above them and were able to snap some photos. The next day, Nick surprised Callen with a private dinner with all of her closest friends and family. Some of them had even flown into town for the celebration- how sweet! The two recently got married in Florida and I am so happy for them!

Whenever a couple is asking for a location that has the most versatility, I always recommend this location. The park features a creek, trails, a lake, lush greenery, and best of all- fields of golden grass. It’s also very easy to access, has tons of available street parking and… it’s FREE! The best times to shoot at this location are Spring, Summer and Fall.
